about us
Bosnia and Herzegovina Community Advice Centre is a registered charity set up in 1997, managed by a voluntary management committee.

The centre is governed by a Constitution. The committee consists predominately of elderly and disabled people from West Balkan living in London and users of the centre. BHCAC is a highly valued resource for the West Balkan community in the UK. The charity is organised so that the trustees meet quarterly to direct its affairs which are carried out by 3 full-time staff members and 16 volunteers. The centre aims to improve the quality of life of the Balkan community, most of who are elderly, physically or mentally disabled refugees from a vicious war (1992-95) that targeted innocent civilians. The centre provides support through the provision of a wide and varied range of services and activities.

The centre operates from premises in two of West London Boroughs of Brent and Hammersmith & Fulham, which are multi-cultural and multi-racial, with significant pockets of multiple deprivations.

It is the foremost Balkan community organisation in London and the only one in the UK offering such comprehensive range of free support services for elderly West Balkans. Every effort is made to ensure that these services are delivered professionally to a high standard. BHCAC is accredited with the quality marks;

  • Pqasso level 1in 2004 & level 2 in 2005
  • Investors in People in 2005, reassessment in 2008
